Hello 2017

Hellloooo!

First off- let me say how I promised I was going to blog "sooooo much" in 2016, and I only posted two things. That's hilarious. 2016 was honestly a wild year for me, and I didn't document it at all on here. I did document the entire year in video format, which you can watch on Youtube here. Basically, I went to NYC, and surrounded myself with much more inspiring and happier people. My fashion style has definitely changed quite a bit too, compared to all the outfits I have on Cosmique Amour at the moment. It's more refined and more what I would say me (alot more minimalism, and blacks). I turned seventeen in 2016, and accomplished alot of what I wanted to do, which is cool.

So here's the first ootd in 2017. It's not a winter outfit, because it's like 80 degrees right now, but that's whatever. I did this little shoot with my best friend, Amber. We thought her look was kinda like Stranger Things inspired-ish. And I'm sporting my usual high-waisted shorts, and this striped halter. I'm currently obsessed with these retro looking Adidas Original shell tops. I think the colorful ones are so fun to style and play with.

Sun Daze

Cosmique Amour has been on hiatus for about half a year, and that's due to me basically getting my life fully on track, etc. Buuuuuut I finally have enough downtime and motivation to actually start blogging again. I actually really miss blogging, it is a fun hobby lol. And I've been doing it for about five years.

So- I'm back with this outfit I almost entirely thrifted! It's currently summer and like 95 degrees everyday, but that's no excuse not to wear velvet. Velvet and suede are my two favorite materials at the moment. I ventured off to New York last month and fell in love with the fashions there. And velvet and suede are the results. I'm also wearing my infamous jelly sandals as well, still in love with them.

Where I'm Going

Hello 2016!

I realize I haven't been as active with Cosmique Amour as I used to be. And I totally apologize. Currently, I've been slaving away on my laptop creating a screenplay for a short film. December was  a rough month for me, and January was just a recovery month. School has been hectic and it's been hard to balance writing, with my extra curriculars. But definitely now, I feel I have enough time to begin fashion blogging again. NYFW is coming up and I'm extremely excited. I've been very focused on my film and I cannot wait to share the behind-the-scenes, etc. once I get production/principal photography rolling. I may start a Youtube channel in the near future, and post lookbooks, and short films on there, to coexist with Cosmique Amour. I'm not sure, but it may happen (:

My current obsessions have been:

  • 60's mod space-age fashion
  • indie-chill pop
  • STAR WARS(!!!!!)

I have made a playlist with my current favorite songs of 2016, and I've been updating it with new sound findings. The playlist features songs from Sam Cooke and Zayn's Pillowtalk (swooning!!) It's also on Spotify , and I recommend playing it on shuffle. Greyson Chance has been my new music obsession, lately. I mean I've always liked him, but his new single "Afterlife" made me a bigger fan. I have a feeling 2016 will be huge for him, and I cannot wait to see what is in store.

So for today's outfit, I tried to keep it winter-y. Though, in Florida, we don't really get a winter. The lowest it has gotten is 50 degrees, (which is freezing to me). I'm really into the minimalist/black ensemble currently, so I wore this black crop top and high waisted pants. To add a pop of color, I threw on this embroidered burgundy cardigan.

Wiped Out!

The Neighbourhood is probably one of my all time favorite bands, and they keep producing amazing records. 'Wiped Out!', in my opinion, is their best album. The whole vibe that comes off from it is so rad. The band is full of loving people, like Jesse, Zach, Mikey, along with the fan-base. The NBHD just entirely gives off good vibes that keep you mesmerized in their lyrics all day.

- And that's primarily why I bought this shirt, (plus it was $10 on Black Friday, lol).

For this outfit, I kept it comfy, and casual. I didn't feel like going all out, but I at least wanted to look decent. I styled my NBHD shirt with the comfiest black joggers, and added a pop of color with my thrifted red flannel.

Also!  I had the amazing opportunity to work with Sawyer Magazine again! I created a playlist (which can also be found on Spotify), and a mixed media art piece. You can read the new Sawyer Magazine issue here

And, now that it is December, I created a Winter Tunes Playlist which can alsoo be found on Spotify.  It's compiled of songs I currently like, along with the traditional Christmas jams.

20 days til Christmaaaas!

Pristine & Sixteen Skipper

Happy (Belated) Thanksgiving!

Though, it was only two days ago. And Black Friday was yesterday, but I did not buy much! (Only jeans and a t-shirt really.) Kinda funny, but I'm finally sixteen! My birthday was last Tuesday. I've been super duper duper busy, but I finally have found time to get back to writing.

Today's outfit is inspired by the warm Florida winters. I featured some of the foliage with it, when my gal pals and I went exploring. The weather is honestly changes so quickly. Days will start out at 60 degrees and then it jumps up to 80 within an hour. Shorts and sweaters are honestly the way to go during the fall to winter transition.

Sweater - F21 (sold out!!)

About that painting..., I finally finished it! It took so long, but I eventually got it done. In total, it took about 14 hours. It is probably one of my favorites I've ever done. Marina and the Diamonds is such a huge inspiration for me, and I was determined not to ruin it (wow that reference though.) I used acrylic paint for basically the whole thing. For her purple outfit, I coated it with clear glittery nail polish. It's only noticeable in certain lights though.

I'm glad to be back blogging (finally!)

1-800-SPOOPYBLING

Can't you believe Halloween is in 13 days?! (how spooooooopy.) Spooptober is almost over :(

So, yesterday Drake released his Hotline Bling music video where he is in a turtleneck. The turtleneck has been a debated over piece, which I completely support whereas I have friends who dread it. I feel like Drake made a new breakthrough in fashion with it. Maybe a trend of turtlenecks will arise?

I thrifted this Kim Possible esque turtleneck top and paired it with my white high-waisted shorts. I felt the whole outfit looked a little empty so I kept it classy with pearls, and laidback with basketball shoes (because ball is life.) It unfortunately is not cold enough to wear full on knit sweaters, but comfortable enough to get away with this turtleneck.

SO -- I've been super inspired with my art lately and I bought a ton of canvases and plan to paint on them all very soon. I begun this painting of Marina Diamandis last week. I haven't had time to finish it this week so hopefully I can get it done by next week and upload WIP photos, along with the finish product. The painting is of a photo from Marina's colorful album, FROOT. I've been listening to an abundant amount of Marina to get in the mood for painting, which is not surprising because Electra Heart is in my top ten of albums.

The Neighbourhood has been releasing alot of good jams lately, so I leave this post with a Hallowen-esque song (Kinda, not really?) that is super duper good - R.I.P 2 My Youth

C'est la Beginning de Spoooooktober

After my month long hiatus, I am finally back with a bang. I am super duper sorry for my September hiatus! Life got in the way, and I wasn't able to blog at all. School has been loading me with piles upon piles of work and I had to take a break and actually catch up. I have a few exciting announcements along with some updates!

Fortunately, it's fall meaning I get to break out the sweaters and that opens new doors for outfits! Also, I was featured in Sawyer Magazine's October Issue which released today! A playlist and drawing I created is in the mag. Thank you so much to Sarah for allowing me to contribute! Definitely check it out because this issue is themed to the Wes Craven film, "Scream".

I'm very full of so many creative ideas, and I have a few projects in the work that I'm very excited to share very soon! Since it's October, I'll be featuring more special effects makeup on the blog too and hopefully doing a tutorial.

I apologize deeply for taking a month long hiatus without notice! But Cosmique Amour is back in order (:
